8/25/2023 0 Comments Oddmar review iosI would definitely recommend this game and you have the advantage of trying the game first before buying the full game. ![]() The game is by developed by a small independent company mobi.ge and published by Senri (who are behind another great platformer Leo’s fortune available on all formats) Each level doesn’t take that long to complete so great for when you only have a small amount of time to play on the go etc. There is a bit of replay value so you 100% each level by collecting all the coins, finding the secret coins, speed run and completing the special areas of the levels. The gameplay is like any other platform game, collecting items, moving items to help complete the level of get to other areas. I have an ipega extendable game controller that I use with my android devices so can get the feel of a proper console like the Nintendo switch but using my mobile or tablet. Playing with a physical controller just makes any game more fun. This is one thing that is missing from a lot of mobile games. Though the one great welcome addition to this game is support for controllers. The controls are just swipe left or right on the left side of the screen and tap in different places on the right for each of the abilities. As are all the animations within the game, this includes the intros to each level. I love the way he jumps by creating mushrooms that he jumps from which is great fun to watch. Oddmar has 3 different abilities jump, attach and power bounce. The graphics of the game are a very vibrant cartoon style which fits really well, the art style remind me of some of the Rayman games from a few years ago like legends and origins. The price is only £3.69 which is good value for a game of this quality. The game is free to download and then just a one off in app purchase to unlock all the levels, I’ve just quickly played it and got to level 4, so assume will purchase after the first world. The game is set over 24 nicely crafted levels set over 4 worlds. The game tells the story of oddmar who is a bit of a misfit in his village of vikings until he gets special powers to help him to valhalla. On-screen controls have been added as an option alongside gestural equivalents.I have just found a stunning platform game released on Android called Oddmar, though the games has been on ios for 9 months now. Oddmar is a promising, high quality game from Turkey. ![]() But I think that platform-fans looking for a short but enjoyable experience, will get their fill with Oddmar. ![]() The game is a free download, with a single £3.69 IAP to unlock all levels. Oddmar is rated Strong after being reviewed by 5 critics. Update: In January 2019, Oddmar was released for Android. ![]() He is shunned by his fellow Vikings and must redeem himself of his. I know I didn't believe it at first either. It's a brilliant platformer that evokes all the fun and beauty of Rayman Origins, but it actually manages to make platforming feel fun and responsive on mobile. And while I could gripe about some irritatingly difficult moments and the game’s brevity, I’d rather get back to playing the best platform game on mobile, thanks. Oddmar struggles with life in his village and is not worthy of a place in Valhalla. By Ric Cowley iOS + Android Oddmar Oddmar was a surprise delight on iOS last year. Sure, it’s not perfect – but then nothing is. And the design’s such that there’s plenty of replay value, to beat speedrun targets, or grab all the gold. The controls work very nicely – to the point using an MFi controller feels like a regression. Still, Oddmar‘s cartoonish world is beautifully animated and feels alive. And they won’t be bad ones either, even if Oddmar doesn’t quite reach the dizzy heights of Nintendo’s finest. Unless you’re a killjoy who can’t abide the thought of a decent platform game on a smartphone or tablet, you’ll at this point be making comparisons with Super Mario Bros.
